Let them be what they want to be

If we take one quick look at the present education system of India, the fact is inevitable that it is not serving the basic purpose of nurturing young minds and encouraging them in scaling up their inner talents. What we actually witness around us everyday is the crime syndicate hidden beneath the educational institutes and coaching centers which ‘guarantee success’ like it is a mere commodity which could be acquired without giving in much effort by the learner. The education system in our country is also responsible for causing extreme cases of stress and suffering to students as it uses the Indian society as its henchman to exploit, harass and sometimes kill the aspirations and dreams of young folks.

The society acts as a catalyst in this process of earmarking young talents by constantly creating an atmosphere of utter competitiveness amongst the students. Some individuals undergo extreme amount of anxiety and even end up taking their own lives. People around us make it sure that we think about securing our future and assuring the fact that we are generating enough income to fulfill all our desires and purchase whatever we want in our life. Money and external assets are the fuel which keeps our lives running and functioning perfectly. A regular school going teenager in India knows exactly what their career has to be like in the future so that they can get in par with the society and live a life which is normal. But, is this the way we should be guiding the youth of our nation? A thirteen year old should not be putting too much time and effort in acknowledging future prospects and need to put time in enhancing their soft skills and making it sure that they learn new stuff and acquire knowledge which is new to them.

How does our society define a secure future? A doctor wishes that his son is also a well settled doctor; similar is the case with a musician. But this phenomenon is not easily seen with noble professions such as educators and teachers, as they know that the academic field does not compensate its employees in the manner private companies and organizations generally do. This is the biggest problem in our country, people chase wealth and money all their lives and make it sure that the young ones are not left behind, that is why students are made to think about earning well in the future if they wish to lead good lives.

So let’s pause for a minute and concede that something is awfully wrong. To influence things to go in the right direction we need to prevent this abnormal society from meddling with our interests, passions and life objectives. Give the young minds a chance to dream, let them move in the rain while they can, let them feel the music of nature, verse of the morning winged animals and placidness of the complexity we call life.
